What have you learned through audience feedback?
After our first year at AS, we learned the vitality of audience feedback and how well it could help contribute to a successful product. At AS, we used http://www.surverymonkey.com/
to create a questionaire that was sent round to our whole year and others from outside school environment to help determine certain things in our film opening such as location and props. So we saw this as a suitable idea for A2 as well.
This year we also had a poll on our blog so that people could vote for the title of our trailer and although it did not conclude our final choice, it was a major factor into our consideration for which title to stick with.

Audience feedback has helped us in many ways with decision making. For example, the online questionnaire helped to find out whether our chosen genre of social realism was popular. We sent the questionnaire to a variety of different aged people via Facebook
and email so our results were reliable. One particular question in the questionnaire which helped us a lot was ‘What breed of dog would you associate with a drama/social realism film?’ The majority of the results clicked the Boxer option; therefore we decided to use this breed of dog in our trailer. The questionnaire also showed us that the film Kidulthood was a popular social realism from the question ‘What is your favourite social realism film?’ We were very inspired by Kidulthood and the trailer has helped us a lot with coming up with ideas for our own trailer.
We also recieved written feedback from the year below who had all seen our trailer and filled out forms of what they thought. The majority said that the most effective shot was the pan out of the train window and this made us learn a lot from audience feedback because it made us aware of what our biggest strength in our trailer was.
