How did you use media technology in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Storyboard
We used storyboards to help us plan the shots we needed in our trailer, it also gave us an insight to how our trailer was going to look.
Youtube
We used Youtube to research different social realism trailers to gain inspiration for our own trailer. We looked at things such as the different shots shown and the sort of people present in social realisms. We also used this site to research sound tracks, focusing on grime instrumentals with a strong beat and Dubstep influences. We felt this type of music would fit with the theme of our trailer being gang culture whilst also appealing to our audience. Another way in which we used Youtube was to post our final trailer onto the site to gain feedback.
Garage Band
Once we had found our soundtracks that we wanted to use we used garage band to crop and edit the tracks to how we wanted them. We cropped the tracks as we only wanted to show certain parts of the songs, due to using two different tracks we layered them so they blended into one another as well as using a fade technique at the end of the first track so it changed to the second with a smooth transition.
iMovie
We used iMovie to put our shots together to make our trailer. We also used this programme to edit our trailer. For example we used a 'fade to white' transition to help show the change in Jack Millers life from poor and alone to him entering a world violence and drugs.
Blogger
We used Blogger.com to show the progress of our ideas and construction of the trailer. The site allowed us to gather our information and display it all in once place.
Wix
We used Wix.com to create a webpage for our film.
